What I learned from second shooting weddings

Two years ago I was just getting into weddings. I was still hugely a beginner! I thought selective colour was cool (it mostly isn't!)
I didn't really take images straight... I mean I tried but those silly horizons kept moving on me!
I did try. I really did! But what was most important was that I learned SO much - weddings are unpredictable. You really have no clue where you're going to be in an hour. You can plan out a timeline, study what you're doing but... there's really no way you can know what's going to happen until the day starts.
I also learned to spend a lot of time on editing. I mean, I edited like crazy years ago but over the years I've gained so much knowledge that the whole process is a lot more streamlined.
Back to wedding craziness though. You really have no clue if the day is going to go all to plan, what the conditions are going to be like (weather predictions aren't always right, as I learned the other week!) The wedding featured in this blog post was shot at Centenary Lakes, Caboolture, over in Moreton Bay. I was the second shooter and I was SO thankful that I was - I really did learn so much it's sometimes hard to put into words.
With that said though, Photography isn't always the easiest career choice but it is absolutely SO worth it to be part of someone else's special day in a unique way.

Until next time,
